What type of massage do I need?
Firstly, all my appointments are just booked under the name Massage, you don't need to decide what type of massage before coming in for your appointment.
The type of massage that's going to work best for you is really going to depend on what you want to get out of your massage session.
If you want to relax and destress you'll need a completely different massage to someone who wants relief from a shoulder impingement issue.
Over the years, I've had some exceptional massage instructors from around the world and have an excellent array of massage techniques in my toolbox to help you whatever your goals from the session are.
I have developed my own specific way of working which my clients tend to describe as slow, firm and focussed. I sometimes throw in stretches, limb movements and joint mobilisations during the session if they'll be helpful.
Here are some of the massage techniques and styles I've trained in:
- Kinetic Massage
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Trigger Point Techniques
- Structural Integration Techniques
- Myofascial Release Techniques
- Harmonic Release Techniques
- Soft Tissue Release
- Table Thai Massage
- Traditional Chinese Massage
- CranioSacral Techniques
- Muscle Energy Techniques
My movement suggestions, exercises and stretches are taken from Sustainable Yoga of which I'm a qualified teacher.
